M500 wifi conflict with GPRS problem

Hi all, I hope someone can help me.

I just purchased a SafeCom wifi SDIO card for my M500. Drivers installed ok and the card picked up and connected to a local hotspot straight away.

My trouble is that when I start using pocket Internet explorer to surf with the wifi connection my M500 seem to automatically connect to the GPRS, overriding my wifi connection in the process. Every time

Is there any way to stop this happening?

Many thanks

With mine (before my SafeCom WiFi card died!) it automatically used WiFi if it was there, and GPRS if it was not.

You need to set your WiFi network settings to "This network connects to the Internet", but other than that it should be automatic.

Mine defaults to wifi if the card is in and it has an IP address from my access point or a hot spot, although the previous post is probably right re setting it to connect to the internet.

My problem is the M500 not connecting to GPRS after using wifi or making a voice call, without a soft reset! Orange technical support seemed amazed when I told them about it...but offered no help.

I got that GPRS failure sometimes too, but not for a while (having said that my SafeCom WiFi card died a couple of days ago, so I haven't been using it!)
