Hello folks,

I´ll soon get a locked and certified C500, so I read the unlock and decertify-instructions on the web. As I understand, I need access to the Operating System to accomplish this. Will the phone boot properly without an Orange SIM, oder will I have to buy an Orange SIM off eBay?

Regards

Jens

Hello,

I have a faulty c500 that boots without a sim, but it's water damaged and runs

v e r y s l o w l y ... and it won't make calls :-(

anyway, under normal circumstances you need a sim present to boot the phone.

The phone will boot with a non-active sim from the correct providor ( orange) but this is useless to you, as you need to de-certifiy it over the air before you can run the unlock app.

Or use the mthod at www.imei-check.com that doesn't need the phone to boot. Costs £20 though.

p.s - orange PAYG sims are £1 including UK postage from www.orange.co.uk

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

To Remove Simlock Follow The Instructions For The Unlocker/"resetsecurity" or what not find out what provider the phone is locked to. Borrow or buy a sim card from that company and proceed to follow the instructions ALSO it is important that you use activesync and install drivers correctly. Once the simlock is removed go back to ur orig. sim
