How long does it take to buy a phone?

Decided to buy a Jam-type phone at the weekend. Ordered an M500 online at mobileshop. Phoned them on Tuesday as their online order tracker still said processing. They were out of stock and didn't know when it would be back. Cancelled order (what was the point!) :cry:

Its now Wednesday. Look around and it seems that all M500s are AWOL. Find a Qtek S110 on o2 on an OK deal. (buymobilephones) Phone them up, get the guy to check the stock and place an order. They advertise that all orders placed before 2.30pm will be delivered next day. Next afternoon I phone them to check on the status. The guy on the phone says that it hasn't been sent out yet but will be here tomorrow. Phone this morning to check and the guy tells me that they're just processing it now and it should be out on Monday.

"WTF?", I ask.

"Apparently", says he, "if it says that it is in stock it might be lying and that the sales staff don't have access to see the truth from the tissue of lies."

"OMFG", quoth I, "But I called your CS line and the guy said I would have it today. Why don't I have it? Why? Why? Why? Why?"

"I can't answer that one as I wasn't there"

Cue lots of random ranting.

"Stick it up your arse then", I exclaim (actually I'm quite polite on the phone so I didn't. Actually, all this conversation is paraphrased as I don't swear at CS people and don't talk like a 13 year old girl*)

he comes back and says that it's sorted now and will be out by monday, but by then I've lost the plot and tell him not to bother.

Grrrrrrr!!!!!!

*At least not all the time.

I'm dead annoyed now. Just thought I'd vent.

So they haven't changed a bit then :roll:

They had precissely the same behaviour years ago when I ordered a Motoroloa L7089 Timeport (remember them :o - the 1st triband phone!) I cancelled the order and got it from Freedom Mobiles - the next day! Needless to say I've stayed clear of Mobileshop since.
