hi,

i have a c550 and need hands free in the car, so i was thinking of getting a parrot ck330 which has hands free dialing i think (do you need to press a button on the ck330 to do this?)

then i thought i could get sat nav, can you just buy the software from tom tom and use the parrots gps, they say its compatiible on their website but im aware you have to use the officiial tom tom gps receiver (probably to stop people buying tom tom off ebay)

then i noticed tom tom go 500 has bluetooth handsfree and have now started to get a little confused ;-) , so has anyone used any of these combinations or know of a better handsfree solution

thanks

Deo

C500 (dont have C550) and Parrot CK3300 works just fine. You can press the button or use keywords.

Both Copilot and TomTom5 work well with the CK3300 -

BUT

There are (or last I heard) issues with TomTom5 and C550

hi rik,

so when you use keywords do you just say them and it dials, no buttons to be pressed?

ooohhhh just read the thread about using another gps device with tom tom, thats cleared that up then...

does anyone know about having to physically press a button on the parrot device to dial someone or can you just blurt out HOME and it calls home. the reason i ask is im a wheelchair user so one hand on steering wheel and the other on my"hand coontrols" so no spare hands.. n :o

also anyone used tom tom g0 500 apparently we can use it for hands free.

You say the keyword for calling (eg Phone), then the voice tag of who you wish to call (eg Home) and then if it has more then one number associated with it the "type" of number (eg Mobile, Work, Home).

I have a C550 which i just upgraded from the C500.

I am having a few problems with my parrot CK3300. It always worked fine with the old version of TTM on the C500 but not tried it with TTM or TTM5 on the C550.

However it has got a few bugs which when i emailed parrot about they just said they haven't tested it with c550 yet.

Every now and then my stereo mutes asif there is a call, then about 3 seconds later it comes back on.

When the device connects it appears to make a call but it is literally using the parrot asif there is a headset plugged in (i.e press 1 on the phone and it makes a noise throught the speaker). This bug is fixed by hanging up on the parrot which is small but annoying.

Voice dialing works a treat though.

oh and for those who are not sure it is like this for dialing.

1) Press Green

2) Say "Phone" "Alex" "Mobile"

and then say "Hang up" when you are finished or press red
