Error while taking photos

Lately, every time I fire up my Audiovox 5600's camera phone and try to take a quick snapshot, it gives me an error while trying to capture... something about not enough space on the phone. But I've set it to save to my 1 GB memory card, and there MORE than enough room on it to take a single photo.

If I reboot the phone, it works fine.

Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

(By the way, a similar problem, although less frequent, is dialing. When I try to dial a number, it gives an error. If I reboot the phone, it's fine)
