I have had my M2000 for 2 weeks now after ungrading from my SE P900 and I have a few questions which have popped up after using the M2000 and comparing it with the P900.

First one was about a GPRS counter like the P900 has, which I found an answer to after doing a search but it was aimed at the M500... So that lead me to another question :o Does any ppc software work on the M2000 or is some software aimed at specific devices??

2) Is there any way to save pictures/photos from pocket internet explorer like you can on the P900 without saving the whole page? So you can use them as backgrounds for your home screen.

3) And on the subject of home screens... the standard home screen on the O2 version of the M2000 looks much better than the M2000 as it has a battery monitor and looks as though it has desktop icons! Is there a home screen I can download that does this? And... :( once I have that can I change the background picture and still keep the icons and battery monitor??

4) The loud speaker seems to distort even at low volume and doesnt seem half as good as the P900's, is this normal??

5) I have also had a few randon little problems like the occasional call or text that comes up with just the number and no name, I checked that there was no double entries in the contacts and restarted but it still does it. Also occasionally when I go to write a text mesage it doesnt allow the full 160 characters. :?:

6) There is also another problem where, when the phone has been hard reset since the last sync, active sync doesnt recognise the phone and I have to set up a new partnership which is a pain in the butt thinking of a new name everytime. Is there a way to make it recognise the phone or delete the old partnerships??

I've gone on a little!!, But if anyone has any idea's that'd be great!!!

There are a few out there, try before you buy and see which one you like. They should all work no probs.

Not that I am aware of. you can use other images, just select them from within the image viewer and there's an option there to do that. I think you can even take a still frame of a video and use it as a background..

3)...Is there a home screen I can download that does this? And... :o  once I have that can I change the background picture and still keep the icons and battery monitor??

You should surf around.. look at handango there are plentyof  plugins you can get. The O2 ones come with the phone, on the M2000 you don't get this but there are some excellent 3rd party apps out there.. again try before you buy and see which ones you like!

4) The loud speaker seems to distort even at low volume and doesnt seem half as good as the P900's, is this normal??

its not the best, its not that loud.. does it really distort so you cant hear the other person? Could be faulty, but the P900 does have a great speakerphone!

5) I have also had a few randon little problem

for the text issue with the 160 characters.. go into your inbox click tools then options then the accounts tab at the bottom, click on text mesages then options and UNtick th 'Use unicode'. This will sort that.

I dont know why the numbers do that. probably a bug, more likely it's something Oulook is doing on the sync.

6) There is also another problem where, when the phone has been hard reset since the last sync, active sync doesnt recognise the phone and I have to set up a new partnership which is a pain in the butt thinking of a new name everytime. Is there a way to make it recognise the phone or delete the old partnerships??

Do you mean soft reset (when you press your tylus into the hole at the bottom) r actually hard reset when everything is erased?

If you soft reset the unit it should re-syn no problems.. but if you hard reset there is nothing to sync so the PC thinks you are syncing a new M2000.

To change your device name you can do it from the phone.. go to start>settings>system>about icon. then you can choose the Device ID tab at the botom and tap in a name.

To delete the partnerships.. before you dock the PDA open activesync and click on 'File' then 'Delete Partnership' This will remove the name and everything to do with that profile on your PC. it won't remove your data from Outlook.. just the partnership details.

I've gone on a little!!, But if anyone has any idea's that'd be great!!!  :(

Lots of this info is in the manuals or in doing a search in the relevant forums.. don't be lazy!
