Guest fglwork Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 Having read numerous previous posts I am still finding that my SPV E500 will not run with my TOMTOM mobile5. As suggested on previous postings, I have - removed the security certificate - put a picture (.jpg)in the TOMTOM folder in My documents -re-installing the mini card again and again This works on my XDA with no problems at all (after transferring the files onto a mini SD card)but I am changing onto an SPV (size and handbag issue) I can install TOMTOM mobile 5 no problem but when I get to the set up option, the voices are missing, as is the map? I cannot get any further as it says there is no maps loaded. I have seen this same question on other websites but they have not answered the person's question. I often use this website to find backdated questions and find it helpful. However I can find no such previous queries. This is driving me insane. Can anyone help, please? Fi

Fi <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would try seeking support directly from tom tom, providing you have a legit copy...
Guest arbudge Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 I believe that your problem lies in the fact that an XDA runs TomTom's Pocket PC version of Mobile 5 and and the SPV C500 requires the TomTom Smart Phone version of the Mobile 5 software. That would exlpain your problems.
Guest fglwork Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Thanks, I found that out this morning from TOMTOM... What a pain as I thought the same package would do both....
