c550 decert issues

Hey there.

I'm a bit of a newbie to this smartphone buisness (I got mine today) and I'm a bit overwhelmed. I have so many questions, but the biggest one right now is whether or not you have to decert your phone before you can put programs from this website onto you phone (like doom, pocketv etc)?

I've found the guide on how to do it, so that's ok once I know if I have to or not. I'm just a bit confused. I'm sure most of us have been there at some point.

Welcome to the forum :o

The best advice I can give you is to have a look in our FAQs & Articles sections, particularly the 'First 48 Hours' thread linked in my sig.

Short answer is that we all remove the software lock on our phones.

you need to download a decert app (from spv-developers I think) and put it on the phone and run it.

you can also contact orange UK (if that is your network provider) who will send you a cab decert file....

Is it possible to synchronise my email on my phone with a gmail account?

I read that to decert the phone I need an Orange simcard, but I think in my country (Argentina) that company have no roaming available, so....how can I decert it??
