I'm not bothering with orange upgrades. I'm trying to buy a qtek s110 on o2 at the moment. (m500 in different case + memory upgrade)

Do you really expect the wizard on orange any time soon?

I'm also looking at the option you have looked at, on buymobilephones.net.

I don't have to stay with Orange, in fact i would like to leave them because their upgrade costs are insane.

The website above has the wizard on the vodafone network, not in stock? Not sure when it's supposed to be out

I had one ordered from buymobiles but went in a strop and cancelled it because it was taking over a week (when they had them in stock). If I hadn't I would have it by now. Ordered on Friday from phones2udirect who are even worse. I'm starting to wonder if the company really exists.

Last I heard the wizard (Qtek 9100) was due out early october.

Hi,

I'm in exactly the same position!

My orange contract is up in the middle of november some time, so really not sure what to go for. At the moment I'm fairly sure I won't go for the M500 and I'm also not bothered about moving away from orange.

Theres a lot of talk on other forums that the M500 is being discontinued by orange. Not sure how much truth there is in that, but if it is true, the M600 must be released to replace it surely???

Does anyone know how much the Qtek 9100 will be going for with a decent contract???

I could have got a free upgrade to a nice M500 a few weeks ago, but declined because I wanted to do a bit of research and find out what else was in the pipeline - last time I got a new phone with Orange was the SPV E200, and almost immediately the much better C500 appeared!

Now it seems there are no M500's to get hold of so if I wanted to upgrade I'd be out of luck. (I haven't actually tried to get hold of one though so don't take my word for it) Nevermind, I stumbled across a website with a review of the improved HTC Magician listing improvements of greater memory and Windows Mobile 5 OS. Maybe that's why none are available at the moment?

Other devices are imminent too. The release of the M5000 has not wet my knickers as it is big and ugly. The M600 sounds like it will be the answer for me but one thing I am worried about is the device may be too thick for comfort. Will the keyboard really be that useful or will it be too small and flimsy. Perhaps it will be prone to damage?

I'm sure Orange will make my mind up for me by releasing the M600 (or whatever they call it) way too late for my growing impatience. It doesn't really sound plausible that the improved Magician (M500) and the Wizard (M600) will both appear at the same time, but then Christmas is not far away and several other familiar competitive practices have occured so far. Perhaps I wouldn't be suprised if our wait is not too long. What really bugs me is all the shrouded secrecy over release dates. Why not give a little respect to the customers? Tell us if and when you are going to release the products we already know about and want. Why treat us this way?

According to a number of suppliers the i-mate k-jam should be released tomorrow and the Qtek 9100 next Wednesday.

I've ordered the Qtek 9100 with buymobilephones.net on O2 250 +100 sms (£35/month) for just £40!

I'd been waiting for my contract to end so i could get a SPV M500 but then noticed a few weeks back that the Wizard was soon to be released!

I wouldn't be suprised if the delivery date slipped a little but it will not be long!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That review spec says Windows Mobile 2003SE. None of the 128meg Magicians have been announced as having Windows Mobile 5, nor has anyone said they're going to offer an upgrade to it. Sorry but think Windows Mobile 5 on the Magician might be a false hope.
