Orange ROM update for unlocked SPV C500

I'm using an SPV C500 unlocked on the O2 network, does anybody know whether applying the latest Orange ROM update will 'relock' the phone to the Orange network?

why dont you just try it and unlock it if it happens? :(

Normally the approach I would try with most computery stuff, however since I bought the phone unlocked I don't actually know how to unlock the phone...do you have an "unlocking the spv c500 guide?"

spv-unlock on spv-developers is free. you can lock and unlock the phone. (I think it's spv unlock)

hi again, finally getting the hang of this posting thing..

for a guide to application unlocking phones, is this the same as network unlocking?

The document refers to IMEI numbers and connecting to Orange etc, since Im on O2, can I download the Orange ROM update, install wthout connecting to Orange and then unlock again to use with O2 without once again connecting to Orange.

The other minor complication is due to the very good or bad (depending on your viewpoint - its quite cheap) my line advance contract with O2 doesn't allow me to connect via WAP or GPRS to the internet - hence the idea of unlocking via orange and the internet is not that viable

So I guess what Im asking is, is it possible to get the IMEI number for my phone and an unlocking program without going via Orange?

Application locking is nto the same as SIM unlocking.

With any update from Orange you will have to application unlock your phone from the ORange developers site.

As for SIM unlockingh once it is unlocked it will stay that way.
