changing phone number

Is there a way I can change the number within the phone?

When I bought the phone I was waiting for my PAC number so the first few days was spent using the default number that was on the SIM card. I've now ported my old number to the phone but everywhere in it show the old number like in phone dialer > options. I've searched through the register and there is a key but changing that doesn't make any differece.

Found it, the numbers are stored on the SIM, so can be changed in SIM manager
