Gmail through Passthrough Connection problems!

I can connect to the internet via my passthrough connection on the phone, however, when i mark emails for downloading and try to download through passthrough connection i get:

"Messages cannot be downloaded to your mobile device, Make sure you are connected and that your email account settings are correct....." (and so on)

i can't understand why it won't connect to Gmail servers whilst plugged in, but when using GPRS all works fine.

I don't see how its a firewall problem as i can get online through passthrough. Just seems to be Gmail that it doesn't like!

Have you got the port settings right, you need to have them set to 995 and 465 (IIRC), as Gmail doesn't use the default ports for their SSL connections.

If you haven't got the server settings as pop.gmail.com:465 and smtp.gmail.com:995, then try that (the ports maybe the wrong way round).

If not, I don't know :-)
