Guest kc8lir Posted September 16, 2005 Report Posted September 16, 2005 In my case, I always have two phones with me. One is my SMT5600, which is my primary phone. The other is the Nokia 3120 that I had upgraded to before I bought my SMT5600. I can't stand the Nokia, but I carry it with me. Unfortunately, the joys of being a consultant, you go into facilities that don't allow cameras sometimes. And since the need to carry the phone with me all the time is pretty important, that's the reason I carry two. I see some people on here with two or more though. I'm just curious as to why? Also, if anyone can recommend a good Windows Mobile 2003-based smartphone without a camera, and that's relatively cheap, I'm interested.. :o
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 I have multiple phones for testing and troubleshooting other peoples problems. It helps to try and visualise what their problem is.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 By 'multiple' you mean more than 2 phones? I only have 2 Windows Mobile-based phones. A Tanager and a C500. To simulate phone-related problems, it will indeed help to have and try it on the actual device.
Guest kc8lir Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 Well, I guess I mean 2 and up for the number of phones for multiples. Makes sense though to have the multiple phones for troubleshooting and such, especially if you're developing on them. Any other reasons?
Guest Tech Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 I have 3 SPV's: 1xE200 (my old first SPV) 2xC500 (SMT5600 i believe) last year I got the C500 and about a month ago I got another C500. reason being because I love these phones but really because I'm a pro dev so I need 2 phones incase if one screws up (which shouldnt!)
Guest mike-oh Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 One for work and one for personal calls. I don't want to be taking my beloved MDA compact onto site with me, i've a sacraficial N**ia for that  (i feel so dirty)
Guest max1956bikes Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 i have a draw full i dont know why may be they will be useful one day.but then i bet we all have
Guest kurtfhouse Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 No good reason for me, just like phones! :cheesy:
Guest Pondrew Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Why've I got three Windows Mobile phone devices? I'd give the same answer as Awarner but many friends and family would give a different answer, probably along the lines of 'because I'm a geek'!
Guest confused and hungover Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 it actually works out cheaper for me to have 2 phones, i used to have just a c500 with 300 SMS per month, average bill around 70 euros. then i picked up an M500 with free calls to anwhere in holland at evenings and weekends and my last phone bill for the 2 phones combines came out at 32 euros. and i'm a geek.

Guest mark4130 Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 SPV C500 for regular usage, a Motorola V975 for 3G surfing, a Nokia 5100 and 5210 for bunging in my pocket when I am mountainboarding / skating. Loads of others as well but they are just sat around to be used by my wife and kids.
