ActiveSync default to IR connection

Is there a way I can get ActiveSync to default to Connect via IR? Are there "command line parameters" or something that I can use for the link to ActiveSync? It's a pain to have to click Menu then Connect via IR every time. That's the only way I connect. BTW ActiveSync on my PC is never able to detect my Smartphone, so I have to launch it from my phone.
