Active Sync keeps running

When I check in settings/system/memory I notice that Active Sync is normally running in the background.

Even if I manually close it, it seems to be running again at some time leter.

Is this normal and why do it happen?

Could it be that in WM5 Activesync is handled differently and not terminated at the end of each connection?

If you manually close AS, then look at your phone an hour later AS is running again (on the memory page).
