I have an Audiovox 5600 (AT&T cellular) unlocked phone which is working fine on TMobile in the US. It has the GSM 850/1800/1900. When I go overseas to certain countries that use the GSM 900/1800/1900 I have connection difficulties and in some countries (China ) it will not work at all.

Can anyone advise me how I can convert mine from 850 to 900 (whicxh I beleive is the standard for the Orange 500 model)

Unfortunately it can't be done without a change to hardware (hasn't been tried yet and unlikely to be worth the hassle)

your best bet would be to get an mpx220 since they are quad band...
