Guest Pagemakers Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 After doing and inbox 'rend & receive' the device drops the GPRS connection. How can I prevent this from happening and stay connected to GPRS?
Guest Pondrew Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Just having a look at this on my MDA III... Right. Just connected to an IMAP4 email account I've got set up. I connected using the option Connect under the Accounts menu and it obviously established the GPRS connection. Having drafted a test email I chose Send And Receive (little icon on the toolbar) and it sent succesfully and didn't drop the connection. The mailbox was also still connected. Thought it might be cos you were selecting Send And Receive while not connected to the email account in question so tried that. Still can't get it to disconnect the GPRS connection, it still succesfully sends and then disconnects from the email account WITHOUT disconnecting the GPRS connection. What device are you having the trouble with? Is it the I-Mate Jasjar?
Guest Pagemakers Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Yes, the JASJAR. There is no connect option. Only send & receive. Whether you are connected already or not, after the send and receive is complete the GPRS connection drops. I do have an app for my smartphone to keep GPRS permanently connected but I do not see such a thing for the PPC.
