Guest RickDawson Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 I'm thinking of upgrading... My contract is up this month about the 15th of this month (september). the website now says no upgrade fee. I am on YP-120 online (120mins 30txt) £15 per month? my average bill is around £22 (inc 4mb data bundle @ £4) Anyone know what / how / ways to get the HTC Universal (M5000) (when it is released)
Guest sponge Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 My wife and I are on the same contract as you, but without the data. We were both asked for £80 to upgrade from our C500s to C550s via the telephone. I went to the website and found it was free. So I upgraded. I have decided to delay my wife's upgrade in case the C600 comes out in the next few months. (She's happy to wait as she's happy with her C500, plus we need TomTom 5.) What I'm saying is, you may well find it's more expensive to do it over the phone. So keep checking that website!
Guest RickDawson Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I'm looking for something more than just upgrading to the C550 OR C600. I have actually been waiting for 3G to become available on smartphones. the HTC Universal could be my next mobile device. It just depends on the options I have to upgrade, and what they are going to cost.

It just depends on the options I have to upgrade, and what they are going to cost. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used my upgrade experience as an example of how the system works. It doesn't matter what tariff you're on, or what phone you want, there are no hard and fast rules. Any offer you receive/find will be based on your individual circumstances/requirements, e.g. on your current tariff, it might cost £0 to get Phone A, but it might cost £79.99 to get Phone B, even with no upgrade fee. There are many similar tales on this forum - you get told one thing over the phone, something different in a store and something else online. All you can do is take your time to research the purchase when the time comes. Don't rush into the first apparently good offer you find. Good luck! Edited September 19, 2005 by sponge
Guest RickDawson Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 I'll see what the options are when the M5000 is released. The website says nothing (£0) for the upgrade fee. very few phones are in stock for upgrades.
