Bluetooth Serial Port for GPS

Hi all

I have bought a Holux GPSlim 236 and wants to use it with my MPx220.

I have read in this forum that not all ROM's support Bluetooth Serial Port. Is that correct?

Which ROM's support Bluetooth Serial Port?

I have the 1.47 generic ROM on mine and also the same GPSlim 236 (great unit) and am using Mapopolis 4.6 with it. It does work, the only problem is that fairly often the COM port doesn't get created which then means the GPS won't work and I have to delete the pairing and re-create it.

I have been playing a bit today with some registry settings and initial thoughts are that they make it a bit more reliable.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Bluetooth]"IsBthVCOMActive" = "2"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Bluetooth]"IsBthVCOMSetup" = "2"

These are the two changes I have made, the values were "1" before. Make sure you GPS is on before you turn on the bluetooth on the phone.

Only the ASIAN roms have this feature implemented properly. The UK and US roms are the same.
