Help - unable to Play through loudspeaker

I am unable to get any sound through the loudspeaker when i play files through beta player or windows media. Feeling it must be very simple to change a setting somewhere but frustratingly no results so far from tinkering. Any pointers?

Figured it out and feel pretty stupid. (I am sure i tried volume control on the side of the Phone). More coffee needed.
