Guest jdmteg Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 whenever i do ne thing on my phone it goes to home screen espcially when i am on the internet or media player. it is very annoying and my timeout is set to never and i have windows 2003.
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Go into Settings, Homescreen and set Time Out to Never
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Ah yes, shame I didn't read your post properly  The only other thing I can think of is that you are running low on phone memory and do not have enough to run the software. Keep homescreens, ringtones, messages etc to a minimum. Are you installing software to the memory card rather than the phone itself ? Other than that, you'd have to expect erratic behaviour with a dodgy OS installed :o
Guest jdmteg Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 it says i have plenty of memory and i have win 03 with updated rom what os should i be using is 2002 better or should i get 5.0
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 As there are not any legal updatre available any you try will have a certain ammount of risk to them. I would do a hard reset first as it sounds more like you have a registry problem if you have the homescreen timeout set to never. Apart from that 2002 is the most stable ROM as it has been tested properly unlike all the 2003 varients around.
Guest jdmteg Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 when i reset it will it have windows 2002 or 2003 on it or do i have to have the software sorry for askin i am new to the smartphone world
Guest Disco Stu Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 It will still have the 2003 OS installed but will otherwise revert to its 'factory condition' - make sure you have backed up your Contacts etc first.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 i am new to the smartphone world Yep sorry, forgot to mention that after a hard reset the phone will revert back to it's basic settings and you will need to reinstall your applications and games. Also as Stu mentioned you will need to resync your contacts again with outlook.
