Guest vinterbird Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 Hey, I know it's an old phone, but my little brothers wants to join in on the Smartphone fun. But I need to update his E100, but when I download the update, it says that it's missing a file (RAPI.dll) to install, and it just don't understand what's wrong. Can anyone help me?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 What ROM version are you using at the moment? Presumably you have the 1.5 if the phone has never been updated.
Guest vinterbird Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Well, the phone says Version 3.0 Buildnr 13258. So I presume it's version 1.3.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 You need to scroll down a bit further in Settings\About to get the ROM version you are using. I do not have my E100 to hand but if you scroll down past the memory and processor details you should see details for Operator and and manufacturer etc these are the details you need. Orange only released one more ROM after the 1.5 and there were not that many changes or improvements between versions. I would not upgrade unless someone has downgraded the ROM in the past to SIM unlock the phone.
Guest vinterbird Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Well, I apperantly have the 1.6, but I would like it to be flashed anyways (it's stuck in headphone mode no matter what). Any suggestions on how to flash it?

Any suggestions on how to flash it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A hard reset should suffice to restore it to the factory default BUT I'm afraid the sticking in headset mode fault is a common hardware one and may not be helped even by a hard reset. Sometimes blowing in the headphone socket or plugging in the headphones and removing them again resolves the problem. Otherwise you could send it to HTC for repair.
