Guest garypen Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 Hi. I was wondering if anyone here has succesfully configured their Audiovox SMT5600 to display Japanese text? I've followed the directions I've found in threads on MoDaCo and PPCSG forums for other WM 2003 SP models. But it's not working. Unfortunately, nobody is answering my replies to those threads, so I am starting a new one. I hope that's OK. What I have done so far: 1. Copied nina.ttf and ninab.ttf from phone's Windows folder to Storage/windows/Fonts folder. Copied msgothic.ttc from PC to phone's Storage/windows/Fonts folder 2. Created _setup.xml file and incorporated into CAB file using makecab.exe. Contents of XML file: 3. Copied CAB file to temp folder on phone, and ran it. It appeared to install succesfully. Confirmed Registry Keys and Values using PHM Registry Editor. 4. Rebooted the phone by powering off, then on. 5. Attempted to read Japanese SMS text message, POP3 email, and Web site. Would not display Japanese text in any of them. It would only display garbage characters, such as boxes, question marks, etc. Perhaps I have missed a step? Maybe something above is incorrect? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
