Setting up the MDA III

I have just got a MDA III and I have been fighting the machine to get email and internet explorer to work with a Wifi LAN and then automatically go to GPRS if it has no WiFi signal. I can get it to connect to WiFi and IE works but email says there is no mail server. If I force it to conncet via GPRS both work but very slowly. T-Mobile user help have got me this far but say they no nothing about the WiFi side.

Can anyone help and is there any good written instructions (the handbook is not helpful) that I can refer to?

A couple of items of software are recommended here that make connecting to wifi much easier as they check the connection is internet ready.
