Guest barrowfordred Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 I've had my C500 since January. Suddenly, over the last 2 weeks, the battery life has reduced considerably. From 4 - 5 days before needing a charge to 2 days and switching itself off! I've not had chance to go back to the Orange shop yet, but I'd have thought that a battery should last more than 12 months.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Batteries are classed as consumables and not normally covered by a warranty as their life is affected by the user and the way they are charged\discharged etc. Technically they are designed to last a years use at optimum performance with X ammounts of charging cycles. I used to know the ammount of charges for the common battery but I've forgotten it.
Guest Tech Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 have you switched on bluetooth? That does take ALOT of batt power my phone battery (almost 1 year old) lasts me a good week including making calls and texting and my phone is on 24/7. That is not using bluetooth. if you do not have bluetooth switched on then try to see if you can charge the battery whilst the phone is switched off, and charge it from the MAINS (not usb cable from the PC). But remember to run down the battery completly first monitor the time of that battery after doing this, if it is still dying after 2 days or so, then I would think it maybe a faulty battery, in which case you should go to orange or buy another battery for £5 UK GBP (Genuine batt!) hope it helps :o
Guest barrowfordred Posted September 21, 2005 Report Posted September 21, 2005 Thanks for those replys. Bluetooth is on, and always has been. I did transfer a couple of files yesterday via bluetooth so this won't have helped. I'll monitor the battery over the next few days. I'm due an upgrade anyway, I've yet to decide if a C550 is worth it.
