Guest Jay3gsm Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Hi. I have done a search for 30 minutes looking for the answer to this question but I couldn't find what I was looking for. Basically, on a new C550, first synched with Outlook, all the contacts have been copied across to the phone last name, firstname. I've found how to change this on the phone, but only one by one. With 300 + names it's going to be annoying to do this. Then, when I re-synch, will Outlook not just change it all back again? Would be very frustrating if it did. Also, a lot of my contacts are listed Name & Name. The phone is now showing these & Name, Name. Annyoing and just looks messy. (Ok not the most ipmortant point in general, but important to me) My question is, apart from changing the contacts one by one how do I set it to ensure the contact list shows as I want it to, and doesn't reset to this silly default each time I synch? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
Guest mupwangle Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Off the top of me head - is it outlook's settings that are overriding the phone? How does outlook display the contacts?
Guest Jay3gsm Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Outlook seems to show the contacts the right way round. I'm not the biggest fan of Outlook and only use it to store my contacts on a backup. Is there ap articular Outlook setting I need to change to ensure numbers are shown correctly?
Guest mupwangle Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 To be honest I can't remember what it was I had to do. I don't have my smartphone on me, only ppc so I cannot play to try and work it out. Anyone about?
Guest outlook_12345 Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 I have been using it. pst recovery and outlook express inbox recovery more stable and secure than other programs.
Guest m1.carson Posted October 11, 2005 Report Posted October 11, 2005 Hi, Try synchronising your phone, leave it sync'd, open outlook>contacts and edit one, check on the phone and you'll find that contact has been changed and moved. I don't mean edit the view in outlook as I've just made a pigs ear of that and it took me half an hour to get back to where I started, just edit the contact.

In the end I manually changed the view one by one on the phone. Every time I put a new contact on the phone, I have to go back into it and change the view so it lists 'properly'.
