Guest chazzer Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 My brother and I have both got TTM5 on C500's (he bought his new, I upgraded from TTM4). Unfortunately, he broke his phone and got it replaced on contract from Orange. I say unfortunately, because the Device code for TTM5 changes when you chnage your phone and now he cannot re-activate TTM5 for the new phone. The thing is now my phone is playing up (stuck keys). And I daren't swap mine out until I know I can use my £200 worth of software on it. I have tried to contact TomTom with 3 emails and a number phone calls (lines are always busy and they cut you off). :x I have seen a FAQ point on TomTom web site for re-activating Navigator on PDA's but there is no mention of TTM5. And anyway it invovles contacting TomTom with your original Product Code and a receipt with proof of swapping the phone. Has anybody else had this problem and how did you get over it (i.e. do you know of a way of contacting TomTom and getting an answer out of them). :?:
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 22, 2005 Report Posted September 22, 2005 Unfortunately the only way is to continue to pester them. I have seen their offices and they only have a limited number of customer support personel for each language supported by TomTom.
Guest chazzer Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 Thanks mate. Nagging worked. They answered in the end .............. hurrah! The answer I finally got from them was to FAX them a copy of the proof of exchange, together with the Product code, new device code, and a reply email address and they will send a new activation code. SORTED. :o
