Guest Shrike Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Just can't stop posting today. So come on, top 5 M500 accessories then? Looking for new toys to spend my wages on :o
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 (edited) The ONLY thing I've bought for mine is a screen protector Will get a desk stand when Muddy has finsihed them, and possibly a car mount kit [edit] Oh, yeah! SD WiFi (SafeCom, cheap and fairly happy if not cheerful) 1Gb MiniSD (carried over from my C500) Edited September 23, 2005 by chucky.egg
Guest Br1an_g Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Javoedge screen protectors, 1Gb memory card. wi-Fi card. all useful tools :o get that protector on without dust underneath is a mensa puzzle in itself..
Guest Palindrome Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 The accessories I have (in no particular order) are a 2Gb SD card, Stowaway keyboard and a Krusell case. I'm thinking about a bluetooth headset but that may conflict with the keyboard, and I don't use the M500 as a phone as much as the amount of typing I do on it. There's got to be more toys out there.

Guest chucky.egg Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Yes, and No I used to use the tip of the stylus to eject the thing from the M500 by pressing down on the corner, but what I've found is that the adapter (not the miniSD card itself) has cracked and I've deliberately broken that bit off to stop it getting lost in the phone! Other than that... Nope, works well. We started to do a speed comparison with miniSD and standard SD, but I'm not sure we got anywhere much. It seems to me that the higher speed SD cards can sustain a slightly higher transfer rate, but whether that has any noticeable benefit is still unclear. Put it this way, for me the speed is just fine (for playing video and music etc)
Guest Shrike Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 Thats all good thank you :o I was planning on picking up a 1gb sg card (I spend quite a bit of time on trains, waiting around for lectures and such so want some stuff to watch to kill time), and possibly a wifi card. Keyboard sounds good, I'm thinking of getting a decent keyboard for it instead of picking up a fullsize laptop for doing work at Uni, as usually I wouldn't type more than two/three pages, so it seems ideal really.

(No, I'm not bitter I waited on an upgrade til Orange had resolved an earlier complaint, then they weren't in stock any more...) Also keen on a keyboard - anyone got a link for where to get, & how much they cost?

Guest Disco Stu Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 A decent pair of headphones from Seideo is my favourite accessory. Also MS Voice Command on the software front - available from Handango but not cheap.
Guest Confused Stu Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 I'd have to go with: JavoEdge screen protector (look at the size of the screen - you wanna scratch it?!?) 2Gb Sandisk Ultra II jobbie 2.5mm to 3.5mm headphone adapter (one with a lead in the middle rather than a one piece) Decent set of Sony headphones (about £20 from Argos!) SpecTec SD WiFi card (much less sticking out than other cards) And that gives you a phone that can finally download and play porn videos to it's ful potential! :o
Guest amo Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Quite similar here... 1Gb SD Card 2.5mm to 3.5mm headphone adapter (crappy one piecer) Screen Protector Brodit Car Cradle Motorola HS820 headset Sennheiser headphones also on the way...BT GPS (soon as I find a cheap cheap one!!!) Voice commander is awesome for use in the car for controlling WMP.
Guest teefaf Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 I got my M500 in early August, and I've accumulated: 1Gb SD card (Corsair) Wifi card (Safecom) 3.5mm - 2.5mm headphone adapter (one-piece, by Palm) Screen protector (Boxwave) Flexible 'skin' case (Boxwave) 2 retractable USB cables (Boxwave) Jabra BT250 bluetooth headset Sony headphones I'd really love a proper cradle, but I can't seem to find one...

Guest mr.matey Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 I really want a desktop cradle...does anyone know if any are available yet for the M500?
Guest unclelimey Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 i bought one of these: m500 battery extender it takes 4 standard AA batteries and can charge the m500 3 times on one set of batteries... perfect for long flights.. works a treat too. :)
Guest Confused Stu Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 OK - I've had a ten minute play with my Christmas present and it NEEDS to be in the top accessories! I know they've been out for a while but it was the first time I've seen one in the flesh and it's unbelievably cool: Bluetooth vkb It works much better than I was expecting, and it makes everyone around you stare with open mouths! Sadly, I only got to have a ten minute play (to make sure it worked before the deadline for returning it ran out) so can't give you a proper commentary on any problems, issues or quirks until I'm allowed it at Christmas, but my bosses comment sums it up so far: "You're a complete sad, pathetic geek. And that has to be THE coolest thing I have ever seen in my entire life!" :)
