Cursor emulation for ppc

Hey

I understand there's an ipaq out there that has a touchpad which drives a cursor on the screen, much like on a notebook:

I think this sounds fantastic - forget the touchpad though, i'd be very interested in finding out if there's software to just do this with the standard directional pad on a ppc (like a jam). up moves cursor up, down down, diagonal etc. Would be great for one handed use.

Surely *someone* has made something like this? It sounds pretty simple...
