Guest KaZoN Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I've lived with my MPX220 for 5 months now and I just dont like the phone, there is sooo much wrong with it. My question is simple What is a suitable alternative? Cheers
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Where are you located and what features are you after?
Guest KaZoN Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Im in the UK and im after the same basic features as the MPX220
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 At the moment you have the C500 (getting old now) or the C550 but if you wait a while longer the C600 will be released. That's on Orange but you have similar on other networks. Overall the above phones are technically better than the MPX220.
Guest KaZoN Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Thanks for the info Ill check out the C600 :o
Guest Paraklas Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I'd wait for the i-mate SP5 with wi-fi..
Guest KaZoN Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Ohh I like the sound of a wi-fi phone. This could be a real smartphone at last.
Guest Pondrew Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Unfortunately you might have a wait for either (the C600 or the SP5)

Guest Pondrew Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 Hope they don't screw it again with joystick construction but let's stay on topic and hope for the best   <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm surprised there aren't more people like me who still think the direction pad/select button on the Canary was a good solution. Remember folks, it was 8way! Did the SPV E100 had joystick probs? I know the E200 and SP3i did. @Kazon, unfortunately there aren't many peeps who disagree with your sentiment towards the MPX220. I'd personally say that if u can live with a larger form factor (and the MPX220 wasn't particularly small to begin with) and a more PDA approach then why not check out one of the smaller Pocket PC Phones? Either the new HTC Wizard when it's released over here or if you're in a hurry and want it cheap you could check out the T-Mobile MDA Compact. I'd recommend the Orange SPV M500 but it seems difficult to find at the moment....
Guest Paraklas Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I was talking about the SP3i joystick that was problematic (have one). The direction pad of the C500 is good, it takes a little time to get used to it but I prefer the one on mpx220 - it's just a matter of taste isn't it?
