So i had tried a copy of the latest initial d episode in .avi format on my sd card, and it plays pretty chopy/slow in tcpmp.. im thinking if mpeg or wmv files would play any smoother? maybe since .avi usually needs some codec decryption or something and thats why its choppy since it uses more cpu power?

Easiest way is to convert files to DivX using PocketDivXEncoder.

Goto http://divx.ppccool.com/

Click download and then either 0.3.50 or 0.3.51 versions

Run PocketDivXEncoder, click Advanced options and click smartphone picture

Make any changes to default settings (if required) and then click encode.

Hello again.

Thanks very much for your helpful replies. Took your advice and all works very well.

Sorry for not researching my question first but I'm gonna use my newby status as an excuse :o

My follow on question really is more for pc advice on the above question.

Now I have the software in my C500 how on earth do I get to download one of my DVD's?

I understand the software I downloaded will play files but how do I get a copy of the DVD into a file on my PC?

If you are able to offer me advice on this can you also tell me how much dvd I could expect to get on a 1 gb card?

Many thanks in advance

You could rip the dvd into an AVI, and then encode it for the smartphone. A program such as "Imtoo DVDRipper" will do it.
