Hi guys im selling an item and accepting payment via paypal. When paypal email you to tell ya that ive recieved payment is it ok to send the item then or does it have to clear first?

Would you say its best to transfer the money from paypal into m bank account and wait for that to clear before i send the item?

Thanks

I would make sure you actually have the money in your bank first

as certain lower life forms use stolen cards etc so you could end up sending your item away and also lose the money at the same time.

Personally i would think you should be ok if PayPal say you've received the payment. Your paypal account is a bit like an extension of your own bank account.

If it was paid with a stolen card surely that would be PayPals problem/fault not yours?

Oh no, that's why your Paypal account is linked to your bank account - so they can get the money back from you if the transaction goes bad.

The only way to really protect yourself is transfer the money to your bank, and the close the bank account.
