Less i am full admin rights and have write permissions ect for the folder.
Guest ian_b Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 From the microsoft site: "...Pocket PC programming is not available in Visual Basic.NET Standard, it requires Visual Studio 2003 Professional, or higher."
Guest ian_b Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 There may be a way around it. You could use SharpDevelop, a free C# IDE. I think it also supports VB.NET now. It doesn't directly support developing PDA apps yet, but it can be done. http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/
Guest Tech Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 no no no you need .NET Framework installed and .NET compact framework installed. once this is done, you need to install the mobile device (smartphone/pocket pc) SDK once done, then in VS.NET 2003 you can create a SMARTPHONE/MOBILE project... and choose the language you want (C# or vb.net) to create an application. ASP.NET type apps are not supported on mobile devices unless you have WM5
Guest ian_b Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 He doesn't have VS2003.NET, he has VB.NET. Smartdevice development isn't supported by the VB.NET-only IDE.
Guest Tech Posted September 25, 2005 Report Posted September 25, 2005 hmmm ok. you should invest in VS.NET :o
Guest MiG:uK Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 its worth more than my pc, the price is around £700. :o
Guest Tech Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 quality is the key here :( when you get this.. there is no more spending  I think for VS.NET2005 (releasing in nov) it will have a free C# IDE available for download soon on Microsoft's website but of course very limited functionality but still, i would invest in VS.NET as you won't regret it, and you can do alot more :o
Guest MiG:uK Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 im a poor student lol if i had £700 i would buy a nice 24" LCD not VS.net :o
Guest ian_b Posted September 26, 2005 Report Posted September 26, 2005 If it's any use to you, you can get Visual Studio .NET 2003 Academic Edition for around 60 quid.
Guest ian_b Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Try http://www.greymatter.com/buyers/63514
Guest GuyAustin Posted January 3, 2006 Report Posted January 3, 2006 or buy the book visual basic .net by diane zak and get a full copy of visual studio visual basic .net this has only the vb .net components, no c++ c# or j+ stuff
