C500 - battery= clock reset

Got a realy irritating problem! My c500 resets the clocktime and date when I remove the battery. even if I remove it for 5 seconds it resets. Got another c500 that don´t have this problem. I have the latest Orange UK rom...

anyone know what the problem could be?

You should have a suitable repair service in Sweden. Do you have Carphone Warehouse ? Alternatively you could send it off to HTC.

That's a bit of a bugger isn't it? You'll either have to live with it or send it back to HTC.

Time for an upgrade to the C600? :o

heheh yeah tell me about it. But it´s not my phone, it´s my girlfriends:D hähä

Mine works perfectly. I´ve tried to change the battery but i´m affraid to break the metal plate on it. seems I need to solder it back...

Actully, I´m going to buy a new one in november. Qtek 8310 or 8300. C600 don´t have wlan:(

If I get time tomorrow I might take a C500 apart and see if you can get the battery outto replace it without breaking it. I'm playing golf today so can't today.

Sorry, a mate rang and asked if I wanted to play golf. A hard choice but the golf won! I'm out today but should get a chance to look tomorrow (provided I don't play golf again!)

[Edit]Thought I'd have a quick look before I went out today. Managed to get phone apart but the battery seems to have both terminals stuck to it. I can't see how it can be removed. It looks like it will have to be returned to HTC for replacement.

How old is the phone? If it is less than a year it should be covered by the warranty anyway. Get in touch with them and see what they say.
