Guest Heliosphan Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 Hey all Only just joined MoDaCo, but used it quite a lot in the past. I'm a bit surprised however that I couldn't locate any info about how to use my SPV M2000 as a GPRS modem for my Laptop via bluetooth. I would have thought this was a major requirement. I've only just gotten round to needing it since I lost my broadband connection due to moving out. Here's how successful I've (NOT) been - -I'm using a Belkin USB bluetooth dongle. -I set up a Dial-Up Networking connection on it to my M2000. -I set it to dial up *99# for the usual GPRS gubbins. -Give it a username and password of orangeinternet -Ensure 'Enable LCP Extensions' is ticked. It initiates the DUN connection to the phone successfuly, I get a box appear on the M2000, but what I'm getting afterwards is this - Error 734 - The PPP link control protocol was terminated. I'm sure however I may need to specify the Orange GPRS connection profile like how you needed to do on the old SPV E200, but I've no idea how to go about doing it. I also have the option of specifying a Network Access bluetooth profile instead of a DUN profile, which should I be using? I'm also a little bemused as to where you set up TCP/IP. Obviously the phone is granted an IP address via DHCP, but how does the PC go about getting it / one? Is the IP address relationship like a NAT translation, or like a routed address? Any help would be gratefuly appreciated. Many thanks. Stuart Smith Principal Analyst / Programmer Coventry University Computing Services Phone - Orange SPV M2000
Guest stuagare Posted October 10, 2005 Report Posted October 10, 2005 Stuart, I had the same problem , I went into the TCP/IP settings for the DUN and under the WINS tab I selected Enable Netbios.... this allowed me to connect ok. I also used username of Orange and Password of Multimedia.. Hope this helps. Hey all Only just joined MoDaCo, but used it quite a lot in the past.
