iPaq 6315 phone speaker not working

I have an iPaq 6315 which I use mainly for GPRS email and web browsing. I would like to use the thing as a phone occasionally though and don't like tangling with the plug in earpiece.

The trouble is... the bloody phone speaker doesn't seem to be working. Does anyone else have this problem or do I just have a duff unit?
