Guest Tech Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 (edited) Hi! WMP Remote has been a huge success ever since version 1. Of course over new versions things have changed to make it better and have more great features! I am happy to announce WMP Remote version 3 has been released today! After weeks of re-writing the application to improve itself and adding new features, the application is bigger and better! Please, check out the list of features/improvements and download version 3 let me know what you think, please post any feedback/bugs here or email me from the website! WMP Remote allows you to connect your SPV to your PC using bluetooth/wireless/GPRS/USB Cable and allows you to select media files to play on your PC from the power of the SPV, and my app! :o I would love to put up a list of features here but would rather you visit the website! www.spapps.co.uk/software.aspx Thanks :( NOTE: it is required that you install .NET Framework 1.1 on your PC! Guest nevawlkalone Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 you need .NET Framework 1.1 installed on the system :o <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Got it 'coz i use auto cad at work which also requires it!!!
Guest Tech Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Got it 'coz i use auto cad at work which also requires it!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> cool! are these "blank" error messages appearing on the computer/PC? Does this happen as soon as you execute the app? (run it)? make sure that all the files are extracted from the zip file in 1 directory if it still shows those blank error messages then it appears that .NET Framework 1.1. is not installed or is corrupt :o if there is any possibility - please upload screen shots of your actions/error messages too! :(

Guest Tech Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 I am planning to make a version for WM5 devices. However I would like to hear what sort of features (WM5 or non WM5 devices) you would like to see in WMP Remote. Anyone got any suggestions/bugs/feedback? please... email me or post them in this thread. :) Thanks!

Anyone got any suggestions/bugs/feedback? please... email me or post them in this thread. :) Thanks! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Visual controls would be nice. Like a nice GUI set of "play, pause, next, previous, etc.." buttons to select from with hotkeys as well. Nice GUI's are aways great :D Kindof like the visual feel of: http://www.jeyo.com/remote/features.asp (only I do not know if that has GUI buttons...but it has nice screens/options which you can also use as ideas for future development) Of course, I have not even attempted to use your application yet (I am currently at work). I too have finals coming up so as soon as I test the application out, I will try to pop back in and leave as much feedback as possible ;) Edited November 18, 2005 by jh20001
Guest Tech Posted November 18, 2005 Report Posted November 18, 2005 no thats great! I also have finals :) much appreciated and thanks for the heads up :D
Guest LarsDK Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Hmm I cant get it to work.... I really think you should consider to make a guide to this program with screenshots and all... I am stuck at the connection settings on the phone, it asks for the server name, but I cant see the server name anywhere, I can see the computer name, but no server name... Where do I set that? Which ports should I use? What is the timeout for? What should it be set to? I have a Qtek 8310 if that helps you in any way... :-)
Guest Tech Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 there is documentation in the application zip file! the servername is the computer name the port is up to you what port you wish to use (33 would be nice) so make sure that the firewall on the computer has port 33 open enter port 33 into the phone client application and on the server timeout for is the number of seconds to wait until it gets a response from the server (computer) when connecting - leave it at the default.
Guest LarsDK Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 There is no documentation with the two zipfiles i have downloaded from your site. I have a CAB and a exe-file in one of the files and install.msi, setup.ini and setup.exe. Thats it! When I open the client on the phone I can name the server and the timeout, but I cant choose the port. The marker just skips that one.... :-(
Guest Tech Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 it doesnt skip it ;) just try again - it may skip it the first time but navigate to it after it skips first "marker" goes to the computer name second "marker" goes to the timeout third "marker" goes to the port number experiment :D
Guest LarsDK Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Ok, maybe it is just me, but why this way?
Guest LarsDK Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Ok now that is sorted, when I now press connect the phone just stops responding and the menus stay on the screen. I have just started the program and started the service, but nothing happens. What can that be?
