Guest d_anders Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 (edited) Windows Media Player 10 for MPX 220? Hi, new here. Great to find a well visited forum specifically for the mpx220. Besides the asia rom's that seem to be more of a bed for beta testing, has anyone have news or information of if or when Windows Media 10 will ever be supported on the MPX220? I'm very interested in subscribing to an on_line music "to go" style service that would allow me to download songs to my mpx220. It appears that most of these subscription "to go" services will work with smartphones with Windows Media 10 that has support for DRM services, etc. I really hope that before Motorola ends support for the mpx220, they provide an update rom with WMP 10, before they place more focus on phones with Windows 5.0. Better yet, I hope they will provide a ROM with Windows Media 5.0!, but I'm not holding my breath. That all said, are there any music subscription services that will currently work with WMP 9.0 and the MPX220? Thanks! Edited September 29, 2005 by d_anders
Guest Pondrew Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 I'm sorry to say I doubt there'll be much support of the MPX220 in the future. Just that Motorola seemed to step back when they were about to launch the device en mass here in Europe. It's been available but not picked up by any major manufacturer. Added to Motorola having cancelled their arrangement with the manufacturers Chi Mei and the outlook for future support can't be good. If there isn't an official rom (and I don't know as it's not a device I've ever had) at the moment with Windows Mobile 10 then you're probably out of luck.
