Guest Loukas Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Hello, Does anyone know if Orange will repair a phone under OrangeCare in cases of water damage? My phone was out in the rain last night (don't ask!!) and it's now not turning on... :o Thank you for your replies, Loukas
Guest Pondrew Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 Would hope so, it's meant to include accident insurance after all.
Guest amo Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 It does indeed cover water damage, claims must be reported imedietly though otherwise you run the risk of voiding your claim
Guest shuurajou Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 Be careful how you describe it. There's a line you don't want to cross - it's called abandonment.
Guest Loukas Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 What do you mean by abandonment? I called them up and described the symptoms, saying that the phone would not turn on from the battery, that when I plugged it it would just stay on but not respond and that the buttons would not work, without explicitly saying that it was water damage. They already replaced it for me within 24hrs, no questions asked. The question is, when they examine it next week will they come back and ask for a payment or something? We will see.... Thanks for all your replies!

Thanks for all your replies! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Abandonment is if you were drunk and dropped it in a curb but couldn't be bothered to pick it up because you knew you'd get a replacement. I'd be careful about the water damage. They check for the faults reported once reported at banbury and they will check for phsyical damage/water damage. Did they ask about water damage? Insurance fraud is a scary thing. Edited October 2, 2005 by shuurajou
Guest Loukas Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 No, they didn't ask about water damage.
