simlock e200 help

Hi,

I just got myself a e200. And I put the Imate rom on it. But i stil can't use my kpn mobile sim card. It sais: No sim card inserted or invalid simcard.

Any ideas on how to make my kpn sim card work (free)?

Strange. The message you experience isn't one I'd associate with a simlocked phone. If it was sim locked it should prompt you to enter an unlock code...

...but if it is locked there are a couple of options:

One option is a tool which patches the rom to bypass the sim lock. It allows the device to use any sim card until you reflash the device (install another rom). This tool which is called E200unlock.exe (not to be confused with a file involved in the second method) used to be freely available as mentioned but is now more difficult to find. Sorry I can't tell you where to find it. The original thread about this tool is here.

The second option is a £20 unlock from www.imei-check.com as discussed here

ehhm yeah i have that file now thx.. but does this also work with the imate rom?

Because I like the Imate rom more then te orange rom..

As far as I'm aware it will patch any rom. Guess the only way to be sure is to try. Patch it and see!
