spv 550 freezing when synching playlists from wmp

Hello

Can anyone help. When I try to synch a playlist from WMP to my spv 550, it gets 5% into the first track then hangs up and aborts. WMP can easily synch with my IPAQ - so presumably no probs with the pc. any ideas? any other way to get mp3s from my pc to the phone?
