Guest ruffryder Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 There must be a way to assign ringtones to contacts other than the crappy ringtones on the phone already. Does anyone know how? Sorry if this topic has been covered before, just need pointing in the right direction. Thanks in advance.
Guest arogntbastrd Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 (edited) are you asking how to put other ringtones on your phone or just how to assign a ringtone to a contact? there are plenty of topics about how to make ringtones so i won't bother with that. you can assign each contact their own ringtone just by editing a contact then scrolling down to "custom ringtone" from there just pick the ringtone from the list which will be all the ringtones you have in your sounds folder and that'll be that person's ringtone. Guest low23 Posted October 23, 2005 Report Posted October 23, 2005 i'm able to assign my custom mp3 file as ringtone... but dun seems to be able to do tat for others sound assignment like alarm, text msg alert, etc.... I thought it was suppose to work like mpx200? ;) Can someone help?
Guest monkeygadge Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 You could try; Getting RJVregtweaks and changing the sounds folder to a folder were you can put all the ringtones that you desire in one place..... Then when you add any of them to each individual contact. I think I'm right in saying it wil let you choose MP3 and WAV files.

Cos now i can only select custom tones under ring tone only. 'm not even able to attach a custom tone to my contact :?: Mi just got this phone yesterday... appreciate your help. Thanks ;)
Guest monkeygadge Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 If you want to add custom tones to your phone you have to create WAV files and place them in Storage/Application Data/Sounds/ To do this you must have your phone 'synced' with your computer using Activesync (available from microsoft website). Then your can choose them from settings on the main menu. Or you can use Regteaks to change the root of the directory to your storage card etc. It appears that different sound variables i.e alarm sound, ring tone, sms, email etc allow different types of file to be used (WAV,MP3 etc). I don't know why. Try downloading some ringtones form this thread: Collection of ring tones
Guest low23 Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Hey, it works. Thanks a lot. Din relised tat it works the same way as MPx200 using wav instead of mp3 format. 8)
