WMP 10 and Equaliser + Bass

I was wondering about getting a 2.5mm jack to 3.5mm jack so that i can use a set of headfones like the sony ex-71's.

Does anyone know if there is anysort of hidden EQ settings or bass settings for WMP 10 so that i can increase the bass if i decide to get a pair of Ex-71's.

yer i tried that and it doenst play music too well lol.

i dunno i can hear some bass when i press in the standard ear buds, just i im a bit of a bass head just wondered if ther was any reg hacks for the EQ.

But one thing that amazed me was the quality of the audio out of the box. it pawns my ipod mini for gods sake. i mean i paid £170 for that new and it sounds s*** compared with a £150 phone.

i mean wat is happening, is this normal for fones to have better audio reproduction or are mp3 players just not like they used 2 be..

yea....most htc phones have amazing sound, but the problem is the default coded equaliser dosent make it work at their full potential. for example the blue angel sounds OK out of the box but once u add this equaliser that someone ripped from the ipaq H2210 its AMAZING!!!

I don't advise to use standard 2,5 jack in handsfree hole. Handsfree jack have one contact more and you could short circuit and then damage your handsets microphone.

It go for my Qtek 8020, probably for all phones with handsfree hole, like standard 2,5 jack.

ok, but why sell the 2.5mm converters and then again why will it damage the fone, as i dont use the microphone contact, if it brakes i'll send it back. :o

trust me, the propreity (dang, howd ya spell it :o ) phone-brand earphones sound TERRIBLE... i jammed a jaycar 2.5mm to 3.5mm convertor in my mpx200, and using sony headphones and TCPMP (CORE Media Player, previously BETAPlayer) it sounded at least 50% deeper and clearer than my normal moto earphones, even without any EQ tweaking! and this converter only cost me $AUD3!

the only problem? the convertor only has two rings - meaning its only three contact instead of four, resulting in only one out of the two headphone channels working :P the workaround is to jam it only halfway in the socket... so im stuck with the moto earbuds until i find a proper convertor in aust

oh and btw, my phone's 2.5mm is fine, so i doubt a proper convertor would damage the socket!

-EDIT-

whoops i forgot to add...

ive been told that this works fine for phones too... but i havent tried it, so best that you scratch about google first!
