Guest supersonicnoel Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Hello mates, Just joined today :o I seem to be in the same boat as many of you that are getting very frustrated with the 'no stock levels' of the M500. I too have phoned, emailed but not yet begged for one of these little beauties. Its the same with the XDA II mini and the MDA Compact from O2 and T-Mobile - Stock levels are low and even no existence in the case of O2. I was in the O2 shop the other day over hearing a conversation that there was talk of a new XDA coming out in the near future possibility December time this year. Its called an XDA Atom and is the upgrade to the XDA II Mini and so I'm assuming M500, MDA Compact etc. Its only a theory but there maybe stock level issues on the M500 because of a new updated unit coming out. I've done a little searching on google and have come up with the links below. The main difference is the colour from silver to black. The unit includes WIFI and is even smaller than the M500. I hope this is the case as I don't mind waiting a couple of months for it as it looks MINT!!!! http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handhelds/0,3...9095540p,00.htm http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/index.php?...on=expand,43089 http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000403059608/
Guest chucky.egg Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Yeah, the stock issues are annoying a number of people The handset you linked to is the new Jam, and could be the reason for the lack of stock, but nobody really knows for sure (at least no official announcements have been made) You could continue this discussion in the existing threads on M500 stock levels
Guest Pondrew Posted September 30, 2005 Report Posted September 30, 2005 Hey Chucky.egg, There is a device called the New Jam but that is an HTC Magician with 128 meg ram. There's also obviously the forthcoming HTC Wizard named K-Jam by Imate but supersonicnoel is actually referring to an even newer device which we have next to no details of called the HTC Athena. It's only been suggested as coming out as a Dopod and XDA so far...
