all, I need advice..

My conract with Orange runs out tomorow! Sat 1st Oct

I currently have a C500 which was great untill about 1 month ago when it began locking up and the up/down button broke... I figured I would get the M500 via an upgrade but because of teh crazy stock issues i need another phone..

I only spend about £30 per month and no gprs etc, but use it for a business phone so must have outlook sync etc..

any good alternatives??

I am not that bothered about who..

just a cool phone! fairly cheap on a £20-£30 PM contract...

but I like gadgets so the more it does teh better...

thanks

From what I have read, there is not much better than the C500 at the moment.

The 550 has better screen and cam but not sure it is worth tying yourself into another 12mths or so just for that.

If it still operates, it could be worth hanging onto the 500 until the C600 comes out and see if that is much more of an improvement. Saying that though, many people are saying that that is not a major leap forwards.

You mentioned you were interested in the M500 aka. HTC Magician/Imate Jam.

The HTC Wizard/Qtek 9100/Imate K-Jam (next model on from M500) is out now/soon and looks pretty cool. It might satisfy your gadgety needs but is larger than a phone.

It depends what you're after. I have recently got a N*kia 6680 because on 3 I get 300 mins cross network, 1000 texts , 50 MMS and 50Mins of video calls and £5 worth of downloads from their site for £30/month. The phone syncs with Outlook (not as well as a Windows phone) and has quite a few apps. I prefer the C500/C550 but can't get the minutes/texts I want as cheaply anywhere else (and I get full reception on 3 at home)

Not using GPRS on a SmartPhone seems such a waste - internet browsing/email is one of the better features.

Do you want a phone with PDA features or a PDA with phone features?

Do you want WiFi?

The main choices seem to be-

C550 or c600 when it comes out - Probably no WiFi

M500/M600 when it comes out. Touch screen, a PDA with phone functions. You would need to replace all your s/ware and a touch screen makes it a completely different experience. The M500 is in short supply and the M600 is just a rumoured version of the M500 with WiFi.

M5000 - Does everything including 3G. Not yet available. True PDA with phone function. gorgeous and expensive and bulky for a phone (although not for what it does)

Any of the above from other suppliers.

SE P910

N*kia 6680

It depends what you want - only you can decide.

TRAITOR!!!!!

:o I know. Me sorry :(

Blame the girlfriend. I needed lots of texts and 3 were the only ones who would give them to me. Also Orange wouldn't let me transfer my numbber to my C550 (new contract) so I'm not using it now.
