unable to update

hi,

i have quite an old mpx (9 months old, unlocked, north america), and i was wondering if i could get some update for it, since the phone shuts down when plug to my comp (and other comps) for too long .

i got the mpx system updater from moto (1.0.0.43), but it says that my phone is already up to date :/

here are the versions of my phone

operator : 0.350.4001.0

manufact.: 1.260.0.0

microsoft : 4.21.14326.0

language : 0.220.16.0

file system : 4.21.14326.0

any idea what's the problem? it seems that the manufact. version is malformed, or something like that.

Do a search in this forum about the update and how you can update non-cingular phones with the cingular software. Also there's a pinned topic about it.

that quite a non sense to be unable to update from the manufacturer a carier free phone...

anyway, i looked around in this forum and didn't find any usefull information for my problem. the pinned thread is about what i've already tried, and the rest was about some opr files for non regular updates (i managed to get the 1.49 rom version, but i have no idea how to use it xD. i'm not asking for help since it's against the rules).

and at last, i visited cingular's website but since i'm not a customer, i can't get any upgrade from them (i'm not located in the us).

The best thing you can do if you got the 1.49 is to use the offline update utility (available on the internet) which will guide you through the process of updating and does not involve cingular or internet connection.

Dear friend,

Can you please explain how you got this phone updated? I got a MPX-220 unlocked as a gift; I do not have Cingular service but T-Mobile; the update explicitly says this is for Cingular only; I am curious as to how you achieved your update with success.

ANy help is appreciated.
