Guest alextgreen Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 MDA compact, unlocked, Orange (UK) contract sim. After a hard or soft reset it will charge on my car charger. Unplug and plug back into the car charger and it will not charge. Reset again and it will. The sim/SD card inserted makes no difference to this. A different car charger/USB adapter makes no difference to this. A friend's (identical) phone works fine in the same car with the same charger. I have had the battery replaced twice and the phone replaced once. No difference. After a hard reset with no sim and no SD fitted the problem remains. Can anyone suggest a possible cure? I'm desparate guys, use my satnav a lot and this is a big problem :o I will in all honesty paypal the price of a pint to anyone that comes up with a solution.

The only think I can think of is dodgy voltage regulation within the car charger. Other than that, no idea... Does your car charger split apart i.e can you remove the lead from the cigarette lighter end? Richard

Richard <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Flashed it to the SPV M500 firmware and by jove it works!!! Thanks for the advice all the same. Was about ready to throw the stupid thing at the wall.
Guest 6thElement Posted October 1, 2005 Report Posted October 1, 2005 The light doesn't always change on my S100 to signify charging but if I check on the power meter it says charging.
