Hello there!!

I am soo confused about which one to get?

I am an orange fan but not sure about the SPVM500. I would change to another network if the the MDA-compact is better, or to the Torq P100 with Vodafone.

Help guys please

I had the same issue as you, and I decided on the MDA Compact.

The reason was this:

SPV M500

-----------

It is an HTC Magician, although the casing has been changed. Its slightly different round the corners and the camera position is different from the original HTC Magician. The new colour is nice it looks better than the MDA Compact.

Over the past few weeks the M500 has been out of stock and there are rumers that its discontinued.

Protective cases are hard to find because of the newer design, and if the phone is discontinued then I suspect not alot of cases will be available, this is the reason why I did not go for the M500

MDA Compact

----------------

Its been around longer than the M500, there are many case's and other accesories available for it. Although its not as nice as the M500.

Also for a while now I have been wanting a GPS device, and luckily I found the MDA Compact with CoPilot at a good price.

So in the end I went for the MDA Compact due to GPS and the amount of accesories for it.

Hope this helps.

The Torq is brilliant.

I've got mine on O2 and have saved £5 a month on what I used to pay Orange for my SPV C500.

Thanks for that guys :(

the torq looks very very nice but is it too thick? or too big? if you compare it to the MDA compact?

I think is better to wait for the ETEN M600

Yeah, I'd skip that and go for the S110 at least (128Mb)

M500 accessories are very thin on the ground, whereas the "traditional" Jam shape has loads more accessories

There's talk about a Jam with WiFi, but TBH all the different model names are confusing me now!

I've had my Torq P100 a few days now, and I don't think it's in any way too big or heavy.

It sits nicely in my hand, and easily fits in a pocket too.

Compared with the MDA compact, the P100 is 4mm taller, 4mm thicker, and no heavier.

Overall, I think it's big enough to be a usable PDA and yet small enough to be a comfortable phone.

I thought this, but my patience gland is sadly malformed.

The M600 release date has been put back from Sept to Oct, and now to Nov.

They're obviously having problems somewhere along the line.

Wifi cards are so cheap on Ebay now, that I decided to get one of those instead.

Only problem of course, is that it takes up the SD slot and prevents me using a memory card.

I know Sandisk do wifi cards with memory, but they're very long, and I'm sure that carrying my in phone in a pocket, as I do, I'd break the card in an hour.

Surely a PDA with 2 SD slots would be a simple and cheap solution.

They wouldn't even have to make them both SDIO compatible.

Or... they could just build PDAs with a gigabyte of flash on the motherboard.
