M500 has not been discontinued!

Hi guys,

I've heard a lot of rumour around these boards (and others) lately about speculation that the M500 has been discontinued.

I called my Area Manager, who then called the Orange stock team, and today he said that it has far from been discontinued - stock demand is so high that Banbury are struggling to get hold of enough units to ship to stores across the country.

He said that the Top 80 stores in the country (e.g. Bullring, Oxford St. 3, Trafford Centre and so on), as well as the 'Business' stores will be getting stock mid-October.

So fear not, if you want an M500 - you'll be able to get your hands on one soon.

Must admit the rumours had got on my nerves too. Never believed them as the stock problems are identical to virtually every Pocket PC Phone they've ever released! Discontinued my ass! (although I don't know how much shelf life they will have given the hardware is getting fairly old).

Good news but stock in extremely short supply is effectively a discontinuation for all intense purposes. As Pondrew mentions it is getting a bit old in the tooth and the new pretenders (i.e. Wizard) have already been released by other manufacturers.........
