Tech - do you think it is going to work?

So many (experieced people) on here don't think it is possible.

Looking forward to the outcome.

Use the google search on the forum page! I always find it is easier to find what you aer looking for that way. :D

The best way to remove unwanted results is to use the "Advanced" options.

If you search for "smartphone tv remote control" in All Forums you currently get 63 pages of hits

If you search for "+smartphone +tv +remote +control" you get 5 pages

You should be able to narrow it down even further with a bit more tweaking of the search, but Tech's posts about his app are in one of the threads on the first page of results.

This, I look very much forward to...

Say if you need a betatester, I'll gladly volunteer! ;)

I own a SPV C500 by the way.

I am, however, perplexed, as to how you have succeeded in comining the IRda with a remote control steering system, as this should be (near?) impossible due the hardware limitations of the IRda port of the HTC devices.

The most succesfull attempt I've read on the subject, was that a guy was able to succesfully send a contact to another multi-device remote control (one of the cheap remote control you usually buy when your original remote is either dead og disfunctional).... :D

i think the irda is better than the one on the 6600 and the 6600 with is a symbian device runs IrRemote , you can control tv's etc. from a verry small distance about 60-70 centimeters , or if you aim perfectly and hit the irda port of the tv you can do it from about 2 meters , but i rarely get that to work , it's nice to go to a pub and change the tv chanel :)

I noticed all windows mobile devices, even with PPC like Qtek 9100 with Ti OMAP 850 200 Mhz processor will not be able to use remote control softwares. Samsung i300 uses Intel Bulveder 400 Mhz which is the same as in i-mate jam and many others, therefore remote control can be used on it.

Nokia's 6600 has a 160 MHz proc (lower or higher . don't remember) and can fully run a remote control device , and your telling me that my spv c600 that can overclock to 288 Mhz can't run a remote control app?

That's a lie!!!
